“We had the opportunity to visit India in 2019, just a few month prior to the outbreak of Covid-19. There we fell in love with the country, it’s people and finally got to visit the ateliers / artisans who put so much passion into creating the unique fine jewelry we design for our clients. The heart breaking updates from our contacts there have been an ongoing concern – how can a small business help? We reached out to photographer Briana Blasko not only because we have been long time friends/fans of her striking photography but that her work has always embodied the beautiful spirit of India. A spirit that is fighting to conquer & heal from the scars of this devastating pandemic” – TEJEN

Sometimes the call of the South becomes so deafening that only an immersion in the temperate climate, ancient / modern cultures & the lull of the slow life can quiet the soul. Mexico’s pristine beaches, the pyramids of Teotihuacan & the colorful modernism of Mexico City’s art & culinary scene were the perfect antidote to the winter blahs. And then there was New Orleans – an enchanting discovery that left me obsessed with the magical colors of the Deep South, inspiration surely to be infused into TEJEN’s new collections.
“India is a place where color is doubly bright. Pinks that scald your eyes, blues you could drown in.” Kirin Millwood Hargrave
In September, we accepted an incredibly generous invitation from the The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council in India to meet with & discover Indian manufacturers in Mumbai. Arriving in the bone drenching monsoon season, the dark grey skies created a perfect backdrop for the brilliant colors that seemed to blossom everywhere. Quite inadvertently, we stumbled upon and were swallowed up by Ganesh Chaturthi, the 10-day festival celebrating Ganesh, the Lord of success, destroyer of all evils & obstacles. How auspicious! The streets, beaches & shores of Lake Powai were filled with waves of people, color, music, flowers, shrines, food & of course giant Ganeshas. Many of our pieces are manufactured here in Mumbai & we are so proud to have supported the first Fairmined manufacturer in India!

Travel has always been a part of my life, from the moment I was born, I was being exposed to new cultures around the world. Embracing multiculturalism & celebrating preservation of culture has always been a guiding force around which most of my major life decisions have been made, one of which was to create TEJEN with Mark Kroeker! Our travel always informs our design direction & has been an enormous influence on our values & the values of our brand.
2019 took me from the highest peaks of the French Alps to the sun-bleached island of Haiti, from the Amalfi coast in Italy to the arid lands of Burkina Faso, from the historically rich & stunningly beautiful Croatia to bustling Mumbai, from the shores of the coast of Normandy to my little sanctuary in the South West of France. The world has nourished me this year with her abundance of beauty, history, & cultural diversity. Here’s to a new decade full of new adventures & discoveries!
We aim to melt more hearts in 2019 with new collections that are individually certified as to the ethical, sustainable, high quality materials and processes used to produce them. Happy New Year to all the amazing people whose efforts continue to build a brand we are truly proud of. We are so grateful for all the unwavering support of our clients, family, friends, collaborators and advisors. To all of you – a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

A POWERFUL PROMOTION.
In Ancient Egypt, the obelisk was believed to perforate the clouds – Dispersing negative energies in the form of storms. We loved this beautiful symbology – so we created an entire collection around it. In today’s climate everyone could use some good energy & protective vibes! To celebrate the launch of our new e-com website shop our curated selection at 25% off. Each pendant is made exclusively of 18K Fairmined Gold & conflict free diamonds. Now that’s positive news!

We believe in the power and duty of a luxury brand to foster cultural preservation, socio-economic development and environmental responsibility – we promise to continue to provide products that are individually certified as to the ethical, sustainable, high quality materials and processes used to produce them. Celebrate conscious luxury!
Inspired by the delicate balance of life / work, TEJEN strives to give time to time. August in France is a time for both holiday and the rejuvenation of our creative spirit as new ideas bloom into new seasons and collections.
Fashion photographer Andrew Yee captures the holiday vibe in this series inspired by the lazy days of summer – Minimal jewelry, fading summer roses and that poignant “end of season” feeling. Our Core Gold Collection’s delicate architecture perfectly compliments breezy summer hair, sun kissed skin, white linen and lace.

We only work with FAIRMINED certified gold mines.
TEJEN’s V.01 core gold comes from artisanal mines found in South America; Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. The premium we pay for the gold used in our collections allows FAIRMINED to empower these artisan communities to create fair wages within their cooperatives, implement social welfare programs and ensure environmental protection. This is the new luxury – to be able to identify exactly where the materials come from, the hands that crafted (or in this case mined them) and how those people are being treated and empowered to create better lives for themselves and their communities.
Convinced that luxury should naturally contribute to preserving the beauty and rarity of our planet, TEJEN strives to use the highest quality, ethical and sustainable materials.
Something about the juxtaposition of these two photographs really struck a chord with us. We referenced this collage over and over again as we designed the first collection and created the imaging for the brand. So much was inspired by the vision the combination gave us.
An ancient eclipse, a modern obelisk.
Best wishes!
Both of us have all but disappeared for the past year working passionately behind the scenes creating TEJEN. We worked with some amazing people whose efforts helped us to create a brand we are truly proud of.We would never have achieved this launch without the unwavering support of our family, friends, collaborators and advisors. To all of you – a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
